Hello, My Name is Galen Dennis and I am the executive pastor at Living To Go church. I am married to Pat and we have three living children—Joshua, Nichole and Natalie. Jacob went home to be with the Lord in 2003. Pat is a nurse and is the director of women’s services at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. She loves her job where she is able to utilize many of the gifts and talents God has blessed her with.
I am sold out to Jesus and the call he has placed on my life and if I could find one word that would describe my style and philosophy of ministry it would be “Relationship”. For me everything centers on this, first with the lover of my soul, Jesus, and then those around me. I have a passion to partner with God in the development of his people for successful ministry. I pour my heart and soul into this area of ministry and I find my greatest strength is the ability to see potential in others and coach it.
I have experienced the highs and lows, the good, the bad, and the ugly of ministry. Through it all the key has always been prayer, that intimate communication with my savior. I have learned to draw my strength from this relationship and understand that this is the key to everything. I have come to realize that if this relationship isn’t living and vibrant then nothing you touch will be either.
Let me share a few of the things I believe are important as I walk my Journey. I put tremendous emphasis on prayer and fasting. I believe the power of fasting and prayer are the “spiritual atom bomb” that the Lord has given us to destroy the strongholds of evil. I emphasize the importance of being involved in a small group, which facilitate the strong relational and evangelism base evident in the New Testament. Another important aspect is that of personal spiritual growth.
My personal ministry vision is something that relates directly to how I live my journey and is stated this way: Building the Kingdom of God through right relationships with God, each other, and the world around me. My passion can be expressed using five terms, which I derive from the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
The first term is Exalt: This has to do with intense prayer as well as vibrant worship. Exalt means I purpose to be in right relationship with my Father, loving Him with my whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. It also has to do with my desire to seek the authentic presence of Christ in all that I do.
The second term is Encouragement: This is my desire to always be in right relationship with my brothers and sisters in Christ, loving them as myself. Encouragement also means I desire to care for and aid my brothers and sisters in their spiritual growth.
The third term is Evangelism: I desire to reach every tribe, tongue and creed with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Great Commission is my Mission and I will not cease from my labors until the whole world knows the love of Christ.
The fourth term is Equipping: I desire to see every person I come in contact with prepared to serve according to their calling and gifting, releasing them through their God-given passions, spiritual gifts, and personal style in ministry.
The fifth term is Expand: This is my desire to train and release believers into ministry, impacting their personal Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the world.
I pray that this has given you a glimpse into my values and priorities of ministry.
